Jack Daniels Single Barrel Tennessee Rye Whiskey
Born on September 5, 1850, Jasper Newton Jack Daniel was the youngest of ten children. His parents were of Scottish and Irish descent. In 1864 Jack learned the art of whiskey making from the preacher and an enslaved man named Nathan Nearest Green.Nearest eventually became Jack Daniel Distillerys head distiller. Daniels distillery founded in Lynchburg, Tennessee in 1866 was the first registered distillery in the country (at the time, distilleries were required to register with the federal government, and the Jack Daniel Distillery was given Registered Distillery Number 1). Today, Jack Daniel Distillery is one of the most distinguished and recognizable names in the spirits industry.Jack Daniel Distillery Single Barrel Rye Whiskey is crafted from a batch of 70 percent rye, 18 percent corn and 12 percent malted barley (this mashbill is the first new mashbill used at the Jack Daniel Distillery Distillery in over a century). Once the ingredients have been mashed, they are fermented with a proprietary strain of yeast and iron-free cave spring water. Following fermentation, the wash is distilled and the resulting whiskey is then charcoal mellowed through 10 feet of sugar maple. This filtering process, known as the Lincoln County Process, earns the whiskey the title of Tennessee Whiskey and imparts a signature, sweet yet smoky flavor profile.Once the whiskey has been charcoal filtered, it is matured for several years in toasted and charred new American White Oak barrels stored in the uppermost locations at the Jack Daniel Distillery warehouses. The higher the barrels are positioned, the hotter the temperature, and therefore the more opportunity the whiskey has to interact with the oak. Bottled at 94 proof, Jack Daniel Distillery Single Barrel Rye Whiskey has an aroma of apples, plums and ripe fruit mingled with charred oak. Notes of butterscotch and caramel on the palate give way to a pleasant, peppery spice, which fades on the finish to reveal notes of vanilla bean and fresh maple. In its first year, only 8,000 cases of Jack Daniel Distillery Single Barrel Rye Whiskey will be released worldwide. Pick up a bottle of limited edition Jack today!

James E. Pepper 1776 Barrel Proof Straight Rye Whiskey
Elijah Pepper began distilling Whiskey at the dawn of the American Revolution and during the War of 1812, he built the first log cabin distillery in Versailles, Kentucky. Eventually, he passed the family business on to his son, Oscar, and then on to his grandson, James E. Pepper. Colonel James E. Pepper was one of Kentuckys first Bourbon aristocrats he raced thoroughbreds in the Kentucky Derby, traveled in a private rail car and made famous the Old Fashioned cocktail. Pepper Whiskey is an old fashioned Whiskey, made in the old time way from a formula used for more than 100 years by three generations of the Pepper family, wrote James, in an advertisement dated August 22, 1887. We claim not only to make the oldest but absolutely the purest and best brand of Whiskey made in America, and we invite comparison with any Whiskey of any age.In 1958, after the Whiskey industry fell on hard times, the James E. Pepper Distillery was forced to close its doors. During its tenure, Pepper Whiskey, or Old 1776 Whiskey as it became it known, was a favorite of Presidents Andrew Jackson and Ulysses S. Grant, and was preferred by Daniel Webster, a leading American statesman and senator from Massachusetts. Before re-launching this iconic brand, says Amir Peay, we did extensive research and spent years collecting and analyzing full, preserved bottles of original Pepper Whiskey. Peay even acquired a letter written by Pepper himself, detailing the exact mashbill and recipe used to create Old 1776. We wanted to pay homage to Peppers legacy and do our best to recreate the original Pepper Whiskey something that was part of American history, he says. The high-rye mash bill, non-chill filtration and overproof character result in a Whiskey with spicy aromas of crushed pepper, tobacco, barrel char and licorice. The chewy palate is filled with more herbs and spices, particularly cedar, and leads to an exceptional finish with hints of black cherry, charcoal smoke and mild sweetness."We used the same traditional methods that Pepper championed in order to restore these Whiskeys," says Peay. Journeyman Last Feather Rye Whiskey
The Featherbone Factory built by E.K. Warren in the 19th century to manufacture womens corsets sits on the banks of Lake Michigan just across the Indiana border in Three Oaks, Michigan. As the factory changed hands in the twentieth century, it became a production site for everything from buggy whips to pickles. Today, its home to Journeyman Distillery and Bill Welter, Journeymans master distiller.Welter, who was formerly a banker in Indiana, began his Journey when his family business was sold in 2006. He moved to Scotland, where he began to learn the art of craft distillation from Greg Ramsay (master distiller at Nant Distillery) and Bill Lark (master distiller at Lark Distillery). After returning to the United States, Welter spent time producing and resting whiskey using a prominent organic and kosher distillers facility in Chicago before opening the doors of his own distillery in Three Oaks with the intention to offer grain-to-glass spirits from day one/drop one.Last Feather Rye is made by distilling a mash of 60 percent organic rye and 40 percent organic wheat through a 5000-liter, copper pot still imported from Germany. The organic rye and wheat are produced without the use of synthetic fertilizers, artificial pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, growth hormones, feed additives, or genetically modified organisms and enable Journeyman Distillery and all of its products to be certified organic by the Midwest Organic Services Association.Following distillation, the rye ages to profile in newly charred American oak casks. Using multiple size barrels, each distillation is tailored to the barrel it will age in and bottled once it has reached the desired taste profile. Kentucky Owl 10 Year Old Rye Batch #3 Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey
Kentucky Owl was founded by Charles Mortimer Dedman, a local pharmacist, in 1879. After marrying his wife, Dedman was given a large parcel of land on the banks of the Kentucky River, as a wedding gift from his adopted father who was a local town judge. C.M. Dedman Distillery was established here on the banks of the Kentucky River, producing "The Wise Mans Bourbon" under Distilled Spirits Plant Designation "No. 16", one of Kentuckys original distilleries and part of a booming industry.Kentucky Owl achieved much success and production continued until Prohibition halted distillation. The family-run facility was no match for the "forces of teetotalism, temperance and eventually, the Feds." In 1916, Prohibition left several local distilleries with ample reserves of bourbon. As for Kentucky Owl, approximately 250,000 gallons of bourbon were left over in various stages of aging. Today these reserves would be worth about $40 million in inventory. After Federal agents descended on the Dedmans distillery, the bourbon was seized and shipped up the river by barge to the state capital in Frankfort for "safekeeping" in a warehouse.Kentucky Owl 10-Year Old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey Batch #3 features citrus, orange juice, grapefruit, oak, anise, and barbeque spice on the nose. The combination of barrel sweetness, caramel candy, creamy vanilla, toffee, and hazelnut coat the palate before moving into a finish of licorice, absinthe, nutmeg, and a mild flash of cayenne pepper. The 10-year old stocks in this Rye #3 deliver a richer, thicker, syrupy mouthfeel.Pick up your bottle today!

Knob Creek Cask Strength Rye Whiskey
Following the end of the American Revolutionary War, Johannes Reginald Beam emigrated from Germany to the United States and eventually settled in Kentucky County. At the time, Kentucky County was still considered part of Virginia and was overseen by a military governor named John J. Bowman. After settling in Kentucky, Beam began harvesting corn and set forth a family tradition by distilling the excess grains he harvested into whiskey. Since then, seven generations of the Beam family have been involved in whiskey production for the eponymous company (the company is named after James Beam, who rescued it following Prohibition).Knob Creek Bourbon was created by Beams grandson, Booker Noe, who after joining the family business in 1950 was promoted to Master Distiller just ten years later. Booker talked like a true Kentuckian and was known for his contagious personality, and through his launch of the Small Batch Bourbon Collection the collection includes Knob Creek as well as Basil Haydens, Bookers and Bakers bourbons he is often credited as the father of the small batch bourbon movement.Knob Creek Bourbon takes its name from the small water source, Knob Creek, that ran through President Abraham Lincolns childhood farm. Bookers vision for Knob Creek Bourbon was that of an honest, quality bourbon that could meet the standards strength, flavor, care, and patience of bourbon made before prohibition distressed the industry just decades earlier. Like Abraham Lincoln himself, Booker designed Knob Creek Bourbon, to be honest, unwavering and full of character.Knob Creek offers a solid core lineup of whiskeys and bourbons, all of which have made the brand one of the most popular labels on the market today. Rye Whiskey has made a massive comeback in the industry in recent years, and Knob Creeks small batch rye is a hallmark emblem of the resurgence of this born again fermented grain whiskey. With its expansive notes of herbs bold rye and nuanced elements of oak, and undertones of vanilla, its no wonder that this rye is one of the most famous whiskeys to date. This exceptionally nuanced cask strength Knob Creek is one of the hitmakers. The whiskey was barreled in 2009, selected from Jim Beams legendary Warehouse A. Before its release, this exceptional rye received Best in Category, at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Pick up your bottle today!

Lock Stock and Barrel 16 Year Old Straight Rye Whiskey
The origins of rye whiskey in the United States date back to colonial America, when early European settlers brought with them the tradition of distilling excess grains from their farms into whiskey. For over a century, the production of rye whiskey centered around Pennsylvania and Maryland, where large numbers of Scottish and Irish immigrants had settled. The popularity of rye whiskey grew steadily among the colonists, and when the British blockade of American ports during the American Revolutionary War prevented the importation of rum, rye whiskey became Americas drink of choice.Inspired by Americas rich rye heritage, the late great Robert Cooper, a third-generation distiller, crafted Lock Stock and Barrel 16 Year Old Straight Rye Whiskey using some stock he held back from Lock Stocks 2012 release of their 12 year old rye. One of the few who single-handedly transformed the cocktail world when he released St. Germain in 2007, Cooper passed away unexpectedly in 2016 at the age of just 39, leaving this release bittersweet. Lock Stock and Barrel Limited Release 16 Year Old Straight Rye Whiskey is distilled from a rare 100 percent rye mash. The rye is grown in the Pacific Northwest, where only grains that exhibit the perfect combination of weight, plumpness and rich, earthy fragrance are harvested. After the grains have been milled and mashed, they are fermented before being double distilled through a copper pot still. Following distillation, the rye is aged in cold weather for sixteen years in new charred American oak casks before being bottled unfiltered at 107 proof. We tasted many barrels in our extensive collection of aged, straight rye whiskey and culled the finest that have matured to 16 years old, said Cooper in a statement before his death. Lock Stock and Barrel 16 is that rare but true combination of the finest whiskey and the best techniques. Winning the highest honors at the 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition further validates the integrity of what we put into every bottle. The flavors of are Lock Stock and Barrel 16 Year are somewhat more intense and concentrated than the 13-year-olds, but with less of an oaky aroma than the age might suggest. Lock Stock and Barrel is a tightly woven fabric of aromatics including black pepper, chocolate, vanilla, and spice cake. The fruit-forward palate balances leather, oak, pinewood and needles with wild cherries, stewed blackberry, dried pear and sassafras. The fruitiness carries through the palate to the finish, where it is joined by warm notes of molasses, anise, and pepper. It blooms beautifully with a half-teaspoon of water added, though it remains flavorful and intense, yet perfectly balanced when neat. Lock Stock and Barrel 16 Year was awarded the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2016. With production limited to 3,000 cases, it likely wont be available for long. Old Forester Kentucky Straight Rye Whisky
During the late 19th century, an overwhelming number of distilleries throughout the United States were still not aging their whiskey. As a result, some retailers would add juices and syrups to sweeten the whiskey, while others would add acid and tobacco to give their whiskey its signature, amber hue.In 1870, George Garvin Brown a young pharmaceuticals salesman from Kentucky saw the need for a consistently high-quality whiskey that would remain unadulterated after distillation. After saving $5,500, Brown and his brother opened the doors to J.T.S. Brown and Bro. Distillery and began distilling bourbon. Unlike other distilleries at the time, Brown aged his bourbon, which was named Old Forester, in oak casks and bottled it in a sealed glass bottle to ensure authenticity and quality. Since its introduction in 1870, Old Forester has been on the market continuously, even during Prohibition, when it continued to be sold for medicinal purposes. It is the only bourbon continuously distilled and marketed by the founding family before, during and after Prohibition. This historic recipe was acquired in 1940 by Owsley Brown I, Old Forester Rye features a mash bill of 65 percent Rye, 20 percent Malted Barley, and 15 percent Corn. This high proportion of barley yields a natural fermentation process, and a unique floral character, balancing the sharp, brisk spice of the rye grain. At 100 proof, Old Forester Rye plays beautifully in a cocktail but also stands up boldly on its own.Pick up your bottle today!

Old Potrero Single Malt Straight Rye Whiskey
Old Potrero was founded in 1871 by Gottlieb Brekle. In 1965, Fritz Maytag purchased Anchor Distilling, saving it from bankruptcy. In 1977, Maytag moved Anchor to its current Potrero Hill location. In 1993, Maytag opened Anchor Distilling Company and began distilling out of the San Francisco Bay Area. Staying true to its original vision of old-style whiskey traditional whiskeys that American distillers once produced, Anchor Distilling produces whiskey in small copper-pot stills, in small batches. This straight rye whiskey was aged in new handmade charred oak barrels. With traditional barrel making, the cooper heats the staves over a fire of oak chips, which allows them to bend and form into the barrel. During this charring process, the inner part of the barrel becomes slightly toasted. In the early 19th century, coopers were learning that if they allowed the heat to perpetually, burn, the inside of the barrel would burst into flames and become charred. This is the traditional manner in which handmade oak barrels-charred impart rich tones and unique characteristics to the final spirit. Crafted from a mash bill of 100 percent malted rye. Old Potrero is bottled at 97 proof (48.5 percent ABV) with no age statement. This single malt has playful notes of citrus, cinnamon, and sweet candied notes. Pick your bottle today!

Peerless Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey
Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. traces their roots back to the 1880s, to the heart of Henderson Kentucky. Peerless Whiskey was founded by a businessman with a bold personality Henry Kraver, who revived the brand from the brink of ruin in the late 1880s. Under Kravers guidance, rose from the ashes, increasing production 25-fold. But the growth of the brand was subsequently stunted by the very unforgiving era of Prohibition. Now, a century later, Peerless Whisky is in the hands of Kravers great-grandson Corky Taylor and great-great-grandson Carson Taylor. Keeping Kravers legacy alive, the duo has resurrected the brand, even distilling under the original Distilled Spirits Plant number, DSP-KY-50 in a centuries-old warehouse in downtown Louisville, near the Ohio River. Peerless Whiskey is distilled using a process that values quality over cost. They use a sweet mash, which is costlier than the more commonly used sour mash. The spirit also enters the barrel at a lower 107 proof, which results in the use of 17 percent more barrels. Water is added before the maturation process as opposed to after, transforming it from a dilutant to an ingredient. The straight rye is non-chill filtered and bottled at barrel strength, revealing a robust, authentic, unadulterated whiskey that was ranked No.15 by Whisky Advocate, on their list of Top 20 Whiskies of 2017. Peerless Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is an incredibly well-balanced whiskey with smooth, sweet notes of brown sugar, oak, and citrus. We craft our spirits at an unhurried pace, like my great-grandfather did. Only the best bourbon and rye whiskey leaves our doors says Corky Taylor. Pick up your bottle today!

Ragtime Rye Applejack Barrel Finished Rye Whiskey
It took over 70 years after the prohibition had ended for the distilling industry to return to New York City. New York had a flourishing distilling industry by the early 19th century, however things changed during the Civil War, when President Lincoln taxed spirits to fund the military. This resulted in many distilleries going underground before the end of the century. The fatal blow for the legal distilling industry in US came in 1920, when the Eighteenth Amendment came into effect making the production of alcohol illegal. It was only in the 21st century that small distilleries started resurging in New York. The New York Distilling Company, located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is one of the oldest distilleries in the city, and was founded in 2011 by Tom Potter, a co-founder of the Brooklyn Brewery, and Allen Katz, one of the nations leading experts on distilled spirits and cocktails. The distillery specializes in gins and rye whiskeys and has been one of the pioneers of the citys distilling renaissance that builds upon the pre-prohibition heritage. Gin distilling in New York began in the 17th century, when Dutch settlers of New Amsterdam (as New York was then called) started making a version of the Dutch spirit genever. However, it wasnt until the early 19th century when the first commercial gin was produced in the US. Gin was a popular drink during the prohibition, as it was simple to make. American gin is a bit different from London and other European gins as a result of using other botanicals. Ragtime Applejack Barrel Finished Rye Whiskey brings together two traditional strong drinks from the northeast US rye whiskey and applejack, which was most probably the first spirit to be produced in the first New York State distillery built in 1640. This whiskey is a version of the distillerys flagship Straight Rye Whiskey. After aging for two years in oak, the rye whiskey is finished for 90 days in barrels that previously held applejack in New Yorks Black Dirt Distillery.Pick up a bottle today!

Rough Rider The Big Stick Cask Strength Rye Whisky
In 1898, Teddy Roosevelt a Long Island native organized the First United States Volunteer Cavalry, commonly known as the "Rough Riders," in preparation for the Spanish-American War. The regiment comprised 1,250 volunteers from across the country, including cowboys, Native Americans and other pioneers of the West. After seeing action in Cuba, the Rough Riders earned a decisive victory at the Battle of San Juan Hill before returning to Long Island. Upon their return, the soldiers celebrated their victory and presented Colonel Roosevelt with a small bronze statue of a cowboy riding a bucking horse. "There could have been no more appropriate gift from such a regiment," wrote Roosevelt later. "Most of them looked upon the bronze with the critical eyes of professionals. I doubt if there was any regiment in the world which contained so large a number of men able to ride the wildest and most dangerous horses."Crafted by Long Island Spirits, Rough Rider The Big Stick Cask Strength Rye Whiskey pays homage to Roosevelts First United States Volunteer Cavalry, and reminds us of the Presidents old foreign policy adage, Speak softly and carry a big stick. The whiskey is crafted from 100 percent Long Island winter rye, which is planted on local farms to maintain the sustainable characteristics of the soils following the harvesting of Long Islands iconic potatoes. Aged in 30-gallon American oak barrels, Rough Rider The Big Stick Cask Strength Rye Whiskey is micro-blended from just eight barrels before being bottled at 121 proof.Rough Rider The Big Stick Cask Strength Rye Whiskey has an aroma of toasted rye bread, marmalade and cinnamon sugar, which leads to notes of malt chocolate and chile peppers on the palate. The finish is a touch warm and very smooth."Its part of the pioneer spirit to try to do something by putting your own signature on it," says Richard Stabile, Long Island Spirits founder and master distiller. Russells Reserve Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (Green Label bottle)
Following the end of the American Civil War, the Ripy Brothers returned to their native state of Kentucky and opened a distillery on the slopes of a hill in Lawrenceburg. The distillery operated continuously for nearly fifty years until the 18th Amendment, which prohibited the sale of alcohol in the United States, was ratified. Following the end of Prohibition, the Ripy Brothers Distillery was reopened, and a distillery executive named Thomas McCarthy took samples of maturing whiskey from the distillery on a turkey-hunting trip with a group of friends. The following year, his friends asked him to bring "some of that wild turkey whiskey" on their next hunting trip, and the distillery was renamed Wild Turkey.Since 1954, Wild Turkey Distillery has been operating under the tutelage of Master Distiller Jimmy Russell. Ive never been drunk, says Russell, who is a genuine bourbon aristocrat and a living legend in the business, but I love my work. People tell me, I hate to get up and go to work, he says. I go seven days a week. You know, on Saturdays and Sundays I may go out there and sit around for an hour or so.Jimmy Russell has kept many of the details about his new Russells Reserve Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey secret, although the whiskey is rumored to be six years old and have a comparatively low rye content for a straight rye whiskey. That said, Jimmy and Eddie have revealed that the barrels selected for Russells Reserve Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey were selected from the center cut of Wild Turkeys warehouse, because these levels (levels 3-5) are exposed to the least temperature variation and therefore offer the highest consistency of flavor. The whiskey is non-chill filtered and will only be available in limited quantities.Russells Reserve Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey has a fruity aroma of bananas, vanilla, almonds, mint and apple crisp, which leads to a palate filled with rhubarb, cinnamon spice, worn leather and oak. The finish is velvety and long-lasting, with pronounced notes of chocolate, coconut and thick custard.Pick up a bottle today!
