SUERTE
Suerte Tequila Blanco
In the majestic blue agave plantations of the Jalisco Highlands, nestled in the rocks like bright sea urchins, blue agave sit looking upon the sprawling Gaudalajaran landscape. These are the stunning blue agave plantations of the Jalisco Highlands.Jalisco is located along the Pacific coast, in central western Mexico. The arid climate and volcanic soil make a perfect environment for cultivating blue agave - the raw material for Tequila. Almost all of the Tequila from Mexico comes from Jalisco. Tequila is generally made in two different regions of Jalisco; Valley of Tequila and the Highlands. The Highlands are in the northeast region of Jalisco, high upon the central Mexican mountain plateau, nearly 7,000 feet above sea level. The elevation makes for dramatic scenery and singular conditions in the regions soil. theelevation, cooler climate and iron-richsoil allcontribute tothe sweeter, fruitierflavor profile that is associated withtheHighlands. Suerto sources its blue agave from these beautiful Highlands. It is home to the Suerte distillery, founded by Laurence Spiewak and Lance Sokol, 2 Boulder residents who left their profession in skincare, to pursue their dreams of becoming tequila makers. With a stroke of luck, and a stroke of genius and Suerte Tequila was born. After sampling a taste of distiller Pedro Hernandez Barbas Tequila in Mexico City, Sokol decided to bring this recipe to the United States. The Tequila Sokol tasted was Suerte Blanco. The distillery produces Suerte tequila using traditional methods such as low temperature, slow cooking and use of a Tahona, a 3,000 pound stone wheel used to crush the roasted agave.Suerte Tequila is handcrafted from 100 percent Tahona crushed Blue Weber Agave, and is double-distilled and held in stainless steel tanks for two months before bottling to ensure that it gets aerated. "Its very smooth for a blanco," says Spiewak. "Compared to most, its smooth and flavorful. Blanco has herbal, citrus, and sweet notes with a remarkably smooth finish, making it a very versatile drink. Blanco is perfect neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail.Pick up your Suerte today!
